ZEG ("we", "us", or "our") is an Australian technology company. We build AI software including EVOLVE AI, ZEG Mail, ZEG Focus, and ZEG Key.

2. What Data We Collect

We're minimalist about data. Here's exactly what we store:

From Waitlist Signups:

• Your email address
• Which product you expressed interest in (e.g., "zeg-mail")
• Timestamp of signup
• Basic browser info (to prevent spam)

From App Usage (EVOLVE AI):

• Nothing personal. EVOLVE AI runs entirely on your computer.
• We don't see your files, folders, or browsing history.
• Optional: Anonymous usage patterns (like "user moved PDF to Documents") to improve our AI—never filenames or content.

From ZEG Key Hardware:

• Device serial number (for warranty and support)
• Activation timestamp
• No usage data, no file access, no telemetry

3. How We Use Your Data

• To email you about products you signed up for (and only those products)
• To count how many people are interested in our tools (honest stats)
• To improve our software based on aggregate, anonymous patterns
• To provide customer support when requested

We do not:

• Sell your data to anyone
• Use your data for advertising
• Share your email with third parties (except our email service provider to deliver messages)
• Build profiles about you

4. Where Your Data Lives

We use Firebase (Google Cloud) to store waitlist and user data. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Servers are primarily located in the United States. By using our service, you consent to this transfer.

For Australian users: We comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access whatever data we have on you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your data entirely (just email us)
• Unsubscribe from emails anytime (link in every email)
• Export your data in a portable format

6. Cookies & Tracking

Our website uses minimal cookies:

• Essential cookies: For theme preference (dark/light mode) and Firebase authentication tokens
• Analytics: Basic visitor counts (Google Analytics, anonymized IP addresses)

We do not use tracking cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.

7. Data Retention

We keep your email on our waitlist until:

• You ask us to delete it, OR
• 2 years of inactivity (whichever comes first)

Then we automatically and permanently purge it from our systems.

8. Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at privacy@zeg.com.au.

9. Changes to This Policy

When we update this policy, we'll:

• Change the "Last updated" date at the top
• Notify active users via email if changes are significant
• Post a notice on our website

Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

10. Security

We take security seriously:

• All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256)
• We use Firebase Authentication for secure user management
• Regular security audits and penetration testing
• Bug bounty program for responsible disclosure
